Professional Network Engineer Certification
Use this path to build and exercise Google Cloud networking skills, not merely to memorize exam terms. The current path contains 16 activities that combine courses, labs, and skill badges around configuring, operating, and troubleshooting production network infrastructure.
What the path covers
The sequence starts with exam-study planning and Google Cloud infrastructure fundamentals, then moves through a six-part networking curriculum. Current activities cover:
- VPC concepts, routing, and addressing;
- load balancing and scalable network architecture;
- network security, Cloud Next Generation Firewall, and secure network design;
- hybrid and multicloud connectivity, including Network Connectivity Center;
- logging, monitoring, and operational troubleshooting; and
- GKE networking, services, communication, and secure application access.
Hands-on activities include load-balancing, secure-network, and Network Connectivity Center skill badges. A Gemini course shows network-engineering assistance, but it supplements rather than replaces direct configuration and diagnosis practice.
Make the path operational
For each module, reproduce the design in a disposable project, diagram routes and trust boundaries, and predict failure behavior before running a lab. Preserve a short troubleshooting log: observed symptom, control-plane evidence, data-plane test, root cause, and fix. Revisit the same topology under quota, DNS, firewall, route-priority, load-balancer health, and hybrid-connectivity failures.
The path prepares learners for skills associated with the Professional Cloud Network Engineer certification, but completion is not the certification and does not guarantee an exam result. Pair it with the current exam guide, practical experience, and product documentation because interfaces, defaults, limits, and exam coverage change.
